Bean burritos are among my top choices to consume in Taco Bell. I love burritos, and I also love beans which is why for someone who is a Mexican foodie like me it’s like an ideal match.
Because Taco Bell is a fast-food restaurant chain, a lot of people believe that the menu items offered are not just affordable, but also extremely rich in calories. However, this isn’t always the situation.
Surprisingly, about three-quarters of the menu options contain lower than 500 calories. That’s almost all of their menu! For someone like me who is a calorie-conscious person, Taco Bell is an excellent location to take a bite to eat.
I adhere to a macro-diet and I aim to consume a number of calories a day. One of the things I like eating in Taco Bell is that I don’t have to fret too much about going over or ruining my daily intake of calories.
It’s nothing like going to McDonald’s and a Big Mac can add more than 500 calories to your daily intake along with 34 grams of fat, and 33 grams of carbohydrates this is quite a bit. We’re not even including the french fries that accompany it and soda.
In Taco Bell, you can even cut down on calories by placing your order “Fresco Style”.
Fresco Style replaces mayo-based sauces Sour cream, cheeses, and guacamole with pico de gallo, making it possible to cut down on calories and fat by as much as 25 percent.
These Fresco-style bean burritos contain only 350 calories per serving, while normal bean burritos have 350 calories. That’s 30 calories less! This Fresco Style bean burrito also contains less fat, however, it also has an extra gram of carbohydrates.

While regular bean burritos may not contain as many calories as one might believe, you can still eat fewer calories by purchasing one of the Fresco Style alternatives.
Personally, I like the traditional bean burrito since 30 calories really aren’t enough, and using mayo-based sauces and sauces, sour cream cheese, guacamole, and mayonnaise inside enhances the taste in my opinion.
